Business property licence to occupy part of a building
Terms and conditions between the owner or lessee of a
building and any person who wants to use part of that
building for business use. This licence is suitable where the
parties require flexibility and very little statutory regulation
About this document
This licence agreement has been drawn primarily to protect the interest of the licensor / property owner.
These terms and conditions govern the relationship between a property owner or lessee and any person (the licensee) who wants to use part of the premises for business purposes. In most business circumstances, a lease would be a better option over a licence. This is because it gives the tenant security to run their business – the landlord cannot turf them out at any time. However, in some situations, a simple licence will be all that is required. The flexibility and lack of statutory regulation may suit you, even if you do run your business, especially if you are just starting up in business and do not want to commit to a long term lease.
